Report from Oslo Aikido Festival

Oslo Aikido Dojo could finally arrange the Oslo aikido festival for the 8th time this year. The festival has been arranged every second year since 2004, except 2010. Due to the COVID pandemic, we haven’t been able to arrange the festival since 2018. It was therefore a great pleasure to again invite all the aikido dojos in Oslo to this year’s festival. Since 2004 we have now 6 aikido dojos in Oslo: Oslo aikido dojo, Aikikan, OSI, Skøyen Aikido, Tenshinkan and Sentrum Aikido. Mouliko Halén was invited as a special guest instructor as in previous years.

The festival has been a success with good weather, good attendance and a great atmosphere, both on the mat and socially, with lunch and a pleasant dinner at Hasle Linie Gastropub. On Saturday a demonstration was held outside of Vinslottet in sunshine with all the dojos represented.

We also congratulate our members with a successful grading:

Bjørn Lindholt, Martyna Kosecka and Idin Samimi Mofakham – 5. kyu,
Marianne Heir – 3. kyu and
Gaber Rashed Moharem, Tiago Perreira and Peter Petrov – 2. kyu.
